Vegan Tacos with Spicy Jackfruit Meat - Simple & Quick

recipe.header.titleBig

Looking for an ingenious plant-based alternative for the next Taco Tuesday? These vegan tacos with spicy jackfruit are an absolute game-changer! The jackfruit has a fascinating texture that, when fried, is deceptively similar to tender meat. With the right spices, it creates a hearty flavor experience that will convince any skeptic. I love serving these tacos with crisp vegetables and a creamy avocado note. It is a wonderfully healthy, light dish that is fresh on the table in under 30 minutes. Whether as a quick dinner after a long day or a sociable snack with friends, this dish is foolproof. Grab your pan and let's conjure up this treat together – it is really easy and brings so much joy in preparation!

Ingredients

Jackfruit canned (drained weight)
200  g
Corn tortillas
3
Red onion
1
Avocado
1
Smoked paprika powder
1  tsp
Olive oil
1  tbsp
Lime juice
1  tbsp

Preparation

1

First, rinse the jackfruit (200 g) well, drain, and shred the pieces into fibrous strands with a fork.

2

Finely dice the red onion (1) and sauté in a pan with the olive oil (1 tbsp) until translucent.

3

Add the shredded jackfruit to the onion in the pan, sprinkle with smoked paprika (1 tsp), and fry over medium heat until crispy.

4

Meanwhile, halve the avocado (1), remove the pit, and cut the flesh into thin slices or mash with a fork.

5

Warm the corn tortillas (3) briefly in a separate pan on both sides until fragrant and flexible.

6

Finally, distribute the spicy jackfruit on the tortillas, garnish with the avocado (1), and drizzle with lime juice (1 tbsp) – meow, simply delicious!
