Vegetarian Burger with Grilled Cheese - Simple & Hearty

recipe.header.titleBig

A vegetarian burger with grilled cheese is my absolute favorite meal when I need something truly hearty after a long day in the kitchen. The golden-brown pan-seared halloumi, which almost squeaks a little in your mouth, harmonizes perfectly with the soft brioche bun and crisp, fresh vegetables. As a little culinary enthusiast, I naturally make sure everything is homemade – from the crispy roasted onion note to the creamy topping. This dish is quick to make and proves that you don't need any meat at all for a really good burger. The combination of salty cheese and sweet, fresh ingredients makes this burger a real experience. Whether you're a cooking beginner or a pro: with these instructions, you can conjure up a vegetarian burger in no time that will convince everyone. Grab your favorite knife and let's purr in the kitchen together – this vegetarian delight is just waiting to be eaten by you!

Ingredients

Brioche bun
1
Halloumi
100  g
Tomato
1
Lettuce leaf
1
Red onion
0.5
Olive oil
1  tbsp
Honey
1  tsp

Preparation

1

Halve the brioche bun (1) and toast the cut surfaces briefly in a pan without fat until golden brown.

2

Cut the halloumi (100 g) into slices about one centimeter thick.

3

Heat the olive oil (1 tbsp) in a pan and fry the halloumi (100 g) on both sides until crispy and nicely golden.

4

Just before the end of the frying time, drizzle the honey (1 tsp) over the halloumi (100 g) so it caramelizes slightly – meow, that smells delicious!

5

Wash the tomato (1) and cut into fine slices, peel the red onion (0.5) and cut into thin rings.

6

First, place the lettuce leaf (1) on the bottom half of the brioche bun (1).

7

Then layer the warm halloumi (100 g), the tomato (1), and the red onion (0.5) on top.

8

Crown the burger with the top half of the brioche bun (1) and enjoy immediately!
