Greek Farmer's Salad with Olives and Feta Cheese - Fresh & Quick

recipe.header.titleBig

A Greek farmer's salad with olives and feta is the epitome of Mediterranean lightness and joy. As a little foodie, I love this dish because it requires no complicated cooking, letting the quality of the fresh, crisp ingredients speak for themselves. In my kitchen, this classic, also known as Horiatiki, is an absolute favorite for days when things need to be quick but you still want to enjoy something healthy and flavorful. The combination of sun-ripened tomatoes, crisp cucumbers, spicy onions, and the salty note of real feta cheese tastes like a short vacation on the Cyclades. I'll show you how to whip up this salad in just a few minutes, without any store-bought dressings or additives. Grab some good olive oil, a little fresh oregano, and let's prepare this wonderfully refreshing, vegetarian feast together. It's child's play and tastes so much better when you chop and arrange everything yourself with love – a true delight for anyone who loves simple, good food!

Ingredients

Tomato
2
Cucumber
0.5
Red onion
0.5
Feta cheese
100  g
Kalamata olives
50  g
Olive oil
2  tbsp
Dried oregano
1  tsp

Preparation

1

Wash the tomato (2) thoroughly and cut it into coarse, bite-sized pieces.

2

Halve the cucumber (0.5) lengthwise, remove the seeds if necessary, and cut into about one-centimeter thick slices.

3

Peel the red onion (0.5) and cut it into fine rings that will distribute well in the salad.

4

Add the vegetables together with the Kalamata olives (50 g) into a nice bowl.

5

Place the feta cheese (100 g) either as a whole piece on top of the salad or crumble it coarsely over it, just as you like.

6

Drizzle everything generously with the olive oil (2 tbsp) and sprinkle at the end with the aromatic dried oregano (1 tsp).
