Sweet & Sour Whiskey Sour with Silky Egg White Foam - Classic & Simple

recipe.header.titleBig

A perfectly balanced Whiskey Sour with delicate egg white foam is the highlight of a relaxing evening. As a home bartender with a penchant for fine aromas, I know exactly what matters in this classic: the harmony between bold whiskey, zesty lemon, and the pleasant sweetness of homemade syrup. The secret to a perfect drink lies in the freshness of the ingredients, which is why I consistently rely on freshly squeezed juice and homemade simple syrup. Adding fresh egg white creates an incomparably velvety consistency and a wonderful, creamy head that makes every sip an experience. This drink is incredibly quick to make and brings real bar vibes right into your kitchen. Grab your shaker, treat yourself to a little time out, and enjoy the sweet and sour refreshment – it is absolutely child's play to whip up this bar-quality drink at home. Meow, enjoy!

Ingredients

Bourbon Whiskey
60  ml
Lemon juice
30  ml
Simple syrup
20  ml
Egg white
1
Ice cubes
10

Preparation

1

Add the Bourbon Whiskey (60 ml), the freshly squeezed lemon juice (30 ml), the homemade simple syrup (20 ml), and the fresh egg white (1) to a cocktail shaker.

2

Perform a 'dry shake' without ice first so that the egg white becomes nice, foamy, and stable – that's my little secret for the perfect texture!

3

Now add the ice cubes (10) and shake the shaker vigorously for about 15 seconds until the outside gets nice and cold.

4

Strain the drink through a bar strainer into a chilled glass so that the silky foam is perfectly preserved, and serve immediately.
