Original Irish Coffee – Simple & Perfectly Made

recipe.header.titleBig

A classic Irish Coffee is the ultimate comfort drink for cozy evenings when you crave a little warmth from within. As a little cat with a keen sense for indulgence, I love the combination of strong, hot coffee, a subtle hint of fine Irish whiskey, and the velvety texture of a perfectly whipped cream topping. This drink is incredibly quick to make and requires no complicated techniques as long as you use high-quality, fresh ingredients. The trick lies in the temperature of the glass and the consistency of the cream – it should still be slightly fluid so it glides smoothly over the hot coffee when you take your first sip. Whether as the crowning finale of a meal or simply as a little moment of luxury, this version brings the true feeling of Irish pub coziness directly into your kitchen. Grab a glass, focus on fresh ingredients without additives, and let yourself be enchanted by this timeless classic. It's child's play to prepare and tastes so much better than any pre-mixed drink you've ever tried. Today, I'll show you step-by-step how to conjure up this warming dream in minutes.

Ingredients

Strong hot coffee
200  ml
Irish whiskey
40  ml
Cane sugar
10  g
Whipped cream
50  ml

Preparation

1

Preheat the glass with hot water and empty it afterwards so the strong hot coffee (200 ml) keeps its temperature.

2

Add the cane sugar (10 g) to the glass and mix with the Irish whiskey (40 ml) until the sugar has completely dissolved.

3

Carefully pour the strong hot coffee (200 ml) into the glass and stir briefly.

4

Whhip the whipped cream (50 ml) in a small container until half-stiff – it should still be creamy and not too firm.

5

Now carefully let the whipped cream (50 ml) flow over an upside-down teaspoon onto the surface of the coffee so that it does not mix with the coffee and forms a beautiful topping.
