French 75 Cocktail – Sparkling, Elegant & Classic

A French 75 cocktail is the perfect choice if you want to bring a little Parisian flair into your everyday life. This sparkling classic combines the tart elegance of high-quality gin with the crisp freshness of champagne and a hint of lemon. As a hobby cook and gourmet cat, I love this drink especially because it's so uncomplicated yet impressive in its fine balance. It is quick to make and wonderful as a classy aperitif for a special evening or simply to treat yourself. The fine acidity of the lemon harmonizes perfectly with the botanical notes of the gin, while the champagne bubbles add that certain something. All you need are high-quality, fresh ingredients – forget pre-mixes! With this recipe, you will achieve an absolutely professional result, without any fuss. Grab your shaker, let's mix this timeless classic together, and enjoy the moment with a sip of pure joie de vivre.
Ingredients
Preparation
For the perfect start, first pour the gin (30 ml), freshly squeezed lemon juice (15 ml), and homemade sugar syrup (15 ml) into a cocktail shaker.
Add the ice cubes (5) and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds so the mixture becomes ice-cold – just the way I like it when I'm lying comfortably on my window seat.
Carefully strain the contents into a chilled champagne flute.
Top the glass with champagne (60 ml), letting the fine bubbles elegantly mingle with the other ingredients.
For the crowning touch, garnish your glass with a spiral lemon zest (1) – it not only looks great, but also adds a wonderful aroma.
