Gimlet - The purist gin classic, simple & refreshing

A perfectly mixed Gimlet is the epitome of elegance in a glass for me as a small, fine home cook. This purist gin classic impresses with its timeless combination of spicy gin and a zesty lime note. Many know it from old movies, but did you know how incredibly quick and refreshing it is to make at home? The secret lies in the quality of the ingredients: be sure to use freshly squeezed juice and not store-bought syrup – the difference is as huge as the difference between canned food and a fresh fish fillet! The Gimlet is the ideal companion for a relaxed evening or as a stylish aperitif for guests. Since it gets by completely without complicated frills, it is child's play for any beginner to prepare. Grab your shaker, a little ice, and let's bring this wonderfully tart and sweet drink to life in just a few minutes. Meow, enjoy it!
Ingredients
Preparation
First, halve the lime (1) and thoroughly squeeze the juice from one whole half so that the full aroma gets into the drink.
Then, add the gin (60 ml), the freshly squeezed lime juice (1), and the sugar syrup (20 ml) together with the ice cubes (200 g) into a cocktail shaker.
Shake the shaker vigorously until the metal is frosted on the outside – this gives your Gimlet the perfect drinking temperature.
Finally, strain the drink through a fine sieve into a chilled glass so that no ice shards disturb your enjoyment.
