Elegant Kir Royal - Original with Champagne & Crème de Cassis

The elegant Kir Royal is the epitome of French lifestyle and a timeless aperitif that you can conjure up in no time with this simple recipe. As a small hobby cook with a penchant for the special, I know: It doesn't take much to create a luxurious experience when the quality of the ingredients is right. Instead of relying on pre-mixed drinks, we use a high-quality Crème de Cassis made from fully ripe blackcurrants and combine it with a sparkling, dry champagne. The combination of the fruity, deep dark sweetness of the berries and the lively acidity of the fine sparkling wine is simply unbeatable and is perfect for special occasions, festive receptions, or a cozy evening when you want to treat yourself. The Kir Royal is made quickly and brings glamour to your kitchen instantly. All you need are two excellent components, a beautiful champagne glass, and a little finesse when pouring. Let yourself be enchanted by the deep red color and the sparkling taste – French enjoyment can be that simple! Grab your glass and let's toast together.
Ingredients
Preparation
First, carefully pour the cool Crème de Cassis (20 ml) into a prepared, ideally pre-chilled champagne glass so that it settles nicely at the bottom.
Then, slowly pour the ice-cold champagne (130 ml) over the cassis with a bit of momentum, so that the ingredients mix perfectly on their own through the gentle foaming.
As a little cat, I recommend you serve the drink immediately, while the carbonation is still wonderfully sparkling – a small moment of enjoyment just for you!
