Halve the grapefruit (0.5) and squeeze the juice of one half fresh, while setting aside a nice piece for decoration.
Place four mint sprigs (6) together with the maple syrup (15 ml) in a glass and press them gently with a muddler to release the fine oils – purring with anticipation!
Now pour the freshly squeezed grapefruit juice (0.5) as well as the bourbon whiskey (60 ml) into the glass and stir everything briefly.
Fill the glass almost to the brim with the crushed ice (200 g) so that the drink stays nice and cold.
Garnish your Grapefruit Julep with the remaining mint sprigs (6) and a small slice of grapefruit (0.5) for the perfect, cat-tastic bar feeling.
