Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat).
Cook the macaroni (100 g) in plenty of salted water (5 g) until al dente and drain.
Melt the butter (20 g) in a pot and stir in the flour (20 g) quickly until a golden roux is formed.
Gradually pour in the milk (250 ml) while stirring constantly until a creamy sauce forms.
Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the grated cheddar (100 g) until completely melted.
Mix the cooked pasta with the cheese sauce and transfer everything into a small baking dish.
Sprinkle the casserole evenly with the breadcrumbs (30 g).
Bake the dish for about 15 minutes in the oven until the surface is beautifully golden brown and crispy.
