Gambas al Ajillo - Spanish Garlic Shrimp - Easy & Quick

recipe.header.titleBig

Who doesn't love the classic Gambas al Ajillo? As a little gourmet, I am crazy about this Spanish tapas specialty that enchants everyone with its intense aroma of fragrant garlic and fiery chili. This dish is incredibly quick to make and instantly brings a holiday feeling to your kitchen. The secret lies in using high-quality olive oil and absolutely fresh shrimp that cook perfectly in the hot oil. When the garlic dances golden in the pan, you know: it's going to be a feast! It is a healthy, protein-rich meal that impresses without any fuss. Whether as a quick snack or a light dinner – my Gambas al Ajillo are super easy to prepare and taste best when enjoyed straight from the little pan. Grab a piece of fresh bread to soak up the aromatic oil – that is the best part of the whole recipe for me! Go ahead and try it, the preparation is simple and the result is restaurant quality in your own home.

Ingredients

Shrimp (peeled and deveined)
150  g
Garlic cloves
4
Olive oil
60  ml
Dried chili
1
Parsley
1  tbsp
Sea salt
1  pinch

Preparation

1

Slice the garlic cloves (4) into very fine, even slices – this ensures the best flavor in the oil.

2

Pour the olive oil (60 ml) into a small pan and heat over medium heat.

3

Add the garlic (4) along with the crumbled dried chili (1) to the oil and sauté briefly until the garlic turns golden yellow, but do not let it burn – it smells wonderful already!

4

Carefully add the shrimp (150 g) to the pan and fry for about 2 to 3 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are pink and cooked through.

5

Season with a pinch of sea salt (1 pinch) and remove the pan directly from the heat.

6

Finally, sprinkle everything with freshly chopped parsley (1 tbsp) and serve immediately.
