Tender Duck Leg on Classic Ratatouille - Simple & Festive

A perfectly tender duck leg on classic ratatouille is a real highlight for connoisseurs who like it uncomplicated yet refined. As a hobby cook, I love the combination of the crispy duck skin and the aromatic Mediterranean vegetables. The best part: It looks incredibly impressive but is very easy to prepare in your own kitchen. The duck braises in the oven while the ratatouille develops its full flavor with fresh herbs and sun-ripened ingredients right next to it. It is a wonderfully healthy dish where the natural quality of the ingredients takes center stage. Without any fuss or processed products, I'll show you step-by-step how to master this French delicacy. Grab your apron – we're conjuring up a meal that would make any kitten purr with joy! It is ideal if you want to treat yourself to something special or impress someone, because this dish tastes like it’s from a Michelin-starred restaurant, just much cozier at home.
Ingredients
Preparation

Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) top/bottom heat.
Rub the duck leg (1) all over with salt and pepper and place it skin-side up in a small baking dish.

Cut the zucchini (1), eggplant (0.5), bell pepper (1), and tomato (2) into uniform, bite-sized cubes. Tip: Consistent sizes ensure even cooking!
Finely dice the onion (1) and garlic (1) and toss with the rest of the vegetables in a bowl with olive oil (20 g) and the Herbes de Provence (5 g).

Spread the colorful vegetables around the duck leg (1) in the baking dish.
Bake everything together for about 60 minutes until the duck leg (1) is golden brown and crispy and the vegetables are wonderfully tender. Enjoy!
